FFNickname (ffnickname.net) is a free Garena Free Fire nickname generator and player-voted name board, made for Indian players. You type a name, pick a styled version built from Unicode characters and copy it into the game, while the FFNickname Editorial Team keeps the lists moderated and up to date.
What FFNickname does
The site does three jobs, in this order of importance:
- A name generator. Type any word and get dozens of decorated versions of it — bold, script, small caps, framed with symbols — each with a copy button.
- A voted name board. Every time a visitor copies, likes or dislikes a styled name, the counter on that name moves. The board is sorted by those real counts, so the names at the top are the ones players actually picked, not ones we chose for them.
- Short guides. How the rename field treats spaces and symbols, why a name can look like empty boxes on one phone and fine on another, and how to change your in-game name.
Everything is free and works without an account.
Who runs the site
The site is run and written by the FFNickname Editorial Team. We publish under the team name rather than personal bylines, and we do not show photos or credentials of people who are not publicly named. The ffnickname.net domain has been registered since December 2021, and the first nickname pages went live in October 2022.
FFNickname is an independent fan site. It does not sell anything, does not take payment for rankings on the board and does not offer game items, diamonds or accounts.
How names are checked before they reach a page
A styled name is only useful if the game accepts it and other players can read it. Before a name set is published or refreshed, we check:
- Length. Free Fire nicknames are commonly limited to 12 characters, and decorated letters can count as more than one. Longer combinations are marked so you can shorten them before spending a rename card.
- Spaces. The no-break space (U+00A0) is the space character we recommend. The Hangul filler (U+3164) that many older guides still teach has been blocked since update OB43.
- Symbols. Characters come from the Unicode standard — mathematical letters, enclosed letters and decorative symbols. They are text, not fonts, which is why a phone without the right font shows boxes instead.
- Language. User-submitted names pass a block list before they are stored. Adult words, slurs, gambling terms and religious or caste-identity strings are rejected, because many players are under 18.
The current Free Fire version is OB55, released on 16 September 2026. Rules about characters can change with each update, so the tables on this site are reviewed after every OB release and carry the date they were last checked.
Where our data comes from
- Vote and copy counts come from real visitors using the site. We never type in a number by hand, and a page that has no real count shows no count.
- Character facts come from the Unicode code charts and from checking names in the Free Fire rename field.
- Game rules such as rename costs are taken from Garena’s official Free Fire site and in-game notices.
Corrections and feedback
If a name is refused by the game, a symbol shows as a box, or something on a page is simply wrong, tell us. Reports, removal requests and copyright notices all go through our contact and policy pages, and a fixed page gets a new “last updated” date so you can see it was changed.

Is FFNickname an official Free Fire website?
No. FFNickname is an independent fan site. It is not run by Garena, and nothing here is an official Free Fire tool. Rename your character only inside the game itself.
Is FFNickname free to use?
Yes. The generator, the board and the guides are free and need no sign-up. The site is supported by advertising.
Why does my stylish name show boxes on some phones?
Decorated names are Unicode characters, not a font. If a phone’s system font does not include a character, it draws an empty box. The name is still correct; the other device simply cannot display that symbol.
Can I suggest a name for the board?
Yes. Names you copy or submit through the generator can appear on the board once they pass the language filter. If you want a name you submitted removed, send us the exact text and the page address.
